What is it?

Craniosacral Therapy is an extremely gentle and non-invasive technique which aims to support the body's natural capacity to self-repair, by evaluating, uncovering and facilitating the release of subtle causes of dysfunction and ill health in the body. Craniosacral therapy does not simply address compromises in the posture and function of the spine and skull, it focuses on the connective tissue in your body, thus influencing the 'entire' physiology, right down to cell level. It has very deep reaching affect and it is holistic. embracing physical, mental, emotional & the spiritual aspects of the individual.  Helping with a wide spectrum of problems, both acute and chronic disease, emotional or psychological disturbances, or simply help restore general health, well-being and vitality.

How is this achieved?

A subtle movement of the cranial and spinal bones is manually applied, in attempt to maximise the function of the 'craniosacral system' - a very important system surrounding the brain and spinal cord.  Thus bringing the central nervous system into harmony.  Craniosacral therapy is a 'hands on' treatment.  Therefore, using their hands with a very gentle touch and manipulation, the practitioner seeks out and identifies areas of restriction, compression or tension you may have throughout the body, which may in turn be impeding proper function of your organs, muscles, nerves, blood vessels and body tissues in general.  Such restrictions in your body may be a result of injury, infection, inflammation, existential tension, underlying pathologies or compressive pressures from your birth process.
